Public Safety Officer

About the role

A Michelin-owned site near Louisville, Kentucky, is looking for a Public Safety Officer to support site safety initiatives and implement the Security and Emergency Response policies. The officer helps keep security installations working, takes part in prevention, protection and security intervention activities, and responds to alarms, incidents and emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Keep security provisions operational through checks, tests, equipment controls and patrols, and enforce access, key, people, luggage and vehicle control rules
• Carry out and document fire and safety rounds, verify and test installations and equipment, and run verification and control plans
• Implement the emergency plan (EP3) and contribute to analysing safety-related events
• Monitor and operate alarm centralization boards and carry out temporary arrangements when needed
• Apply logistics instructions to carriers (weighing, sealing, transport documents)
• Respond to intruder alarms, incidents, disasters or malicious acts, use incident sheets, alert the Site Safety Manager and apply emergency measures including first aid
• Handle incoming calls, inform newcomers about site security rules, write handrail and anomaly reports, and track fire and safety indicators

Required profile

• EMT certification (KBEMS or higher)
• Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule
