Part-Time Security Officer - Biotechnology Company

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a biotechnology client in Oceanside, California. The role is an unarmed patrol position at a healthcare location, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, supporting access control and assisting visitors, patients and staff. The schedule is three days per week, Friday to Sunday, 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients and contractors by carrying out security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies and critical situations, following site protocols.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare and research facilities, parking areas and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials and report unauthorized access or policy concerns.
• Complete accurate reports, maintain activity logs and share observations and incidents with leadership and site contacts.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of security-related experience, or 3 years of combined law enforcement, military and/or security experience or a college degree.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.

Preferred qualifications

• Customer service experience.
• Access control and badge experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
