About the role

The Security Guard provides a safe and secure environment for associates, contractors, and visitors at MassMutual facilities in Springfield, MA. The role involves greeting entrants, monitoring premises, and responding to incidents while upholding company security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and observe all people entering facilities and assist as needed.
• Monitor facilities, report or correct violations of security policy.
• Investigate unusual, suspicious, or threatening incidents and resolve them with supervision.
• Respond to emergency situations and serve as a resource for associates.
• Perform guard, patrol, and other duties essential for protection of personnel and property.
• Issue badges, control site security logs, keys, and SOC operations.
• Control parking areas and escort visitors and contracted employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 1+ year experience in corporate security, military, or law enforcement.
• Ability to work the required schedule (weekends and evenings).
• CPR, AED and/or First Responder training preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with security or video management software.
