Second Cook - Fine Dining

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs is looking for a Second Cook within the Chef department. The purpose of the role is to consistently provide a flawless dining experience with exceptional food, exquisite presentations and superlative service. The candidate works under the supervision of the Sous Chef.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all food items according to the menu and the prep sheet specifications
• Handle line assignments as scheduled, including station prep and station service
• Manage mise en place
• Check equipment condition and obtain the necessary utensils, tools and supplies
• Prepare the show plate before each dinner service and close the station properly
• Complete assigned tasks, follow directions and handle guest interaction, ordering, clean-up and clerical duties
• Work evening and day shifts as required

Required profile

• Previous experience as a cook in a similar fine dining environment
• High school diploma or G.E.D. plus 3 years of experience in an equivalent food production operation, or an A.O.S./A.S. degree in Culinary Arts (preferred) or completion of a 3-year Pro-Start program plus 3 years of equivalent experience
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English
• West Virginia Food Handlers card
• Flexibility and teamwork
