Line Cook - Five-Star Dining

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs is hiring a Line Cook for its kitchen department. The purpose of the position is to consistently provide a flawless dining experience with exceptional food, exquisite presentations and superlative service. The role is temporary and involves shifts as required, including evenings and days.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guests with an outstanding, unique food experience that meets the high Greenbrier standards.
• Carry out food production to benchmarked superior standards, following all recipes and methods at a five-star level.
• Organize, sanitize, care for and maintain kitchen equipment, cooking tools, storage, refrigeration, small wares, work surfaces, floors and shelving in the area of responsibility.
• Train team members on what constitutes a good product and how to stay consistent.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or an AOS/AS degree in Culinary Arts plus 2 years of food production experience in a high-volume operation such as The Greenbrier or a similar location.
• Experience in a broad range of dining operations and independent restaurants; minimum 2 years in food production.
• West Virginia Food Handler's Permit.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with excellent work ethic, time management and organizational skills.
• Able to lead a highly motivated team, take direction and feedback well, and work independently with very little supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency in all aspects of pastry culinary arts, with thorough knowledge of recipes and methods for restaurants and banquets.
• Basic computer literacy, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to read and follow menus and recipes, with an eye for product control and food quality.
• Innovative, creative, and responsible for controlling food and labor costs in the area.
