Seasonal Tax Manager - Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory (Insurance)

About the role

EY's National Tax Department (NTD) serves high-profile national and multinational clients with domestic and international transactional tax planning and tax-related advisory services. Its Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services (TARAS) practice, operating within NTD, supports companies on income tax financial reporting, including tax accounting, tax provision procedures and controls design and testing. This seasonal manager role covers tax accounting and planning advice and tax provision preparation, with a competitive salary.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clients with tax guidance and consulting on tax accounting and planning, covering internal restructurings, acquisitions, dispositions, carve-out financial statements, GAAP conversions between US GAAP and IFRS, share-based compensation, financial statement restatements and balance sheet remediation of tax accounts.
• Assist companies with all aspects of preparing their tax provision.
• Review the tax provision process to improve efficiency and accuracy and strengthen the control environment.
• Assess tax risk and control environments, including beyond Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, supported by significant tax or legal experience; MST, MAcc or JD/LLM preferred.
• Valid US CPA license or active state bar membership.
• Minimum of 6 years of work experience in professional services, a tax organization, a law firm or the IRS.
• Ideal candidates have strong ASC 740 and/or IAS 12 experience, corporate tax planning and compliance experience, and broad exposure to federal income taxation.
