Claims Representative - Workers Compensation (Non-Resident States)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Representative for Workers Compensation, handling claims on behalf of its clients to determine benefits due and keep claims adjudicated within service expectations and client requirements. The role covers non-resident states and requires a Texas or Florida license (or a non-resident state license). Candidates living within 25 miles of a Sedgwick office work hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days from home); others may be considered for a fully remote arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through action plans, investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction in a professional and timely manner.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of non-resident states and a Texas or Florida license (or non-resident state license) preferred.
• Ability to handle work-related stress, multiple priorities and deadlines, with clear thinking, judgment and discretion.
