Seasonal Hair Stylist

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel is hiring a seasonal Hair Stylist for its Studio G salon in White Sulphur Springs. The position involves guest service, hair and makeup services and retail sales, with 32-40 hours per week during the season. Staffing is by seniority and requires availability on holidays and 7-day-a-week operation, with two scheduled days off for full-time staff.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with guests, responding to their needs and requests promptly and professionally
• Cut, color and style hair according to guest requirements, and perform other services such as hair extensions and eyelash extensions
• Apply makeup using current techniques, including airbrush
• Sell retail products to guests
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, sanitize stations and equipment to WV cosmetology sanitation standards, and monitor supplies and assets
• Attend scheduled training sessions, special events and promotions, and report hazards and suspicious activity

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• West Virginia licensed cosmetologist or national cosmetologist license (a licensed cosmetologist is required)
• Advantageous: experience in cosmetology, esthetics, retail and high-end salons
• Ability to learn new services, understand product ingredients and meet sales goals
• Willingness to work as a team and to cover call-ins

Required skills

• Strong hair cutting, coloring and styling skills
• Familiarity with hair care treatment lines similar to those used at Studio G
• Clear communication and strong retail skills (an advantage)
