Script Writer for EYstreem

About the role

Spawnpoint Media, a production company of over 100 experts, is hiring an experienced script writer for its EYstreem channel (13M+ subscribers). The role is based at Spawnpoint HQ and works in a hybrid setting. The writer produces weekly scripts for a channel focused on safe, engaging entertainment for children.

Key responsibilities

• Storyboard and skeleton planning: build synopsis and summary structures for upcoming scripts and scope pre-production feasibility.
• Write new scripts every week following screenplay formatting and internal SOPs.
• Keep frequent check-ins and give constructive feedback with each production stage and department to ensure creative continuity.
• Research YouTube content, pop culture, film and TV trends, and analyse metrics such as views, AVD, AVP, CTR and impressions to spot successful patterns.
• Prepare work clearly and concisely for colleagues and supervisors, and take part in post-mortems to improve future scripts.
• Incorporate feedback from showrunners, producers and seniors into writing processes.
• Use historical knowledge of film, TV, YouTube and pop culture to combine proven patterns with fresh ideas, and meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• 1-2 years of experience on YouTube, including at least 6 months writing.
• Strong communication, initiative, deadline awareness and ability to understand and act on feedback.
• Ability to write within parameters and also generate blue-sky ideas.
• Fast learner who follows SOPs, with strong documentation skills.
• Willingness to use AI tools such as Claude Code and Gemini.

Required skills

• Historical knowledge of film, TV, YouTube, social media, pop culture and traditional media.
• Basic understanding of Minecraft and/or live-action YouTube content.
• Bonus points: deep knowledge of Minecraft (mods, maps, mechanics), experience in other YouTube-specific roles, work with major YouTube creators, and having created content for your own channel.
