Bilingual Linguist (Arabic/French)

About the role

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Linguist (Arabic/French) to support national security work, providing professional linguistic support across translation, interpretation, transcription and gisting. Travel is required both OCONUS and CONUS, at the customer's discretion, and candidates must be able to support the contract 24/7 while on travel. The position is open to applicants with no clearance initially, provided they can obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Key responsibilities

• Translate materials (digital and hard copy) between Arabic and French and English, capturing nuances, cultural and geopolitical references and using subject-matter terminology.
• Provide consecutive interpretation; simultaneous interpretation may occasionally be required.
• Transcribe audio or internet-based content and produce high-quality English reports.
• Gist and summarize key facts and abstract concepts, prioritizing critical information from large datasets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 2-6 years; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, fully adjudicated before work begins; Leidos sponsors candidates after passing language tests.
• Must pass a Leidos-administered language proficiency test (Primary level or higher) or an equivalent.
• Preferred: HLT experience, familiarity with the U.S. Intelligence Community, military or law enforcement environments, ability to brief stakeholders, and proficiency in multiple languages.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic online research.
• Ability to attend and pass all sponsor-related training, a medical laboratory and/or physical screen, and weapons training.

Pay range: $73,450 - $132,775.
