About the role
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) seeks a Business Advisor to provide professional consulting and training to entrepreneurs across an 11‑county region. You will work from the Victoria office while traveling extensively throughout the service area.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze client financial, marketing, management and operational data; prepare pro‑forma statements and cash‑flow studies.
- Interpret government regulations, develop business and marketing plans, and assist with loan proposals.
- Deliver one‑on‑one counseling, seminars and workshops on start‑up and expansion strategies.
- Maintain relationships with Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Corporations and other local partners.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
- At least three years of relevant experience and progress toward Certified Business Advisor status.
- Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Required skills
- Proficiency with PC software applications in a Windows environment.
