SBDC Business Advisor

About the role

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) seeks a Business Advisor to provide professional consulting and training to business owners and entrepreneurs across an 11‑county region. This full‑time position is based in Victoria, Texas, with extensive travel throughout the service area.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze client business and industry data in finance, marketing, management, and operations.
• Prepare pro forma financial statements, cash‑flow feasibility studies, and loan proposals.
• Interpret government regulations and incorporate them into client plans.
• Deliver one‑on‑one counseling, seminars, and workshops on start‑up and expansion strategies.
• Maintain relationships with Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Corporations, and government officials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience and progress toward Certified Business Advisor status.
• Strong analytical, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PC software applications in a Windows environment.
