About the role
The Samuel Z. Stone Chair in Economics is a prestigious joint appointment between Tulane University's Department of Economics and the Stone Center for Latin American Studies, beginning August 2026. The chair will advance research, teaching, and outreach on Latin American economies while providing senior leadership within the department.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to Latin American economics.
- Conduct high‑impact research on development, trade, fiscal policy, and other key issues affecting Latin America.
