Sales Manager

About the role

Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place, a 202-room hotel on the University of Pittsburgh campus in the Oakland neighbourhood, is hiring a Sales Manager. The role manages accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to win past and new business so that revenue goals are met or exceeded.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates so they meet brand and hotel standards and HHM core values.
• Sell all facets of the hotel to previous, current and potential clients using professional sales techniques.
• Negotiate terms and conditions that satisfy internal and external customers.
• Manage accounts, making sure solicitation and closing are complete and documented, and coordinate departmental involvement in serving accounts.
• Maintain relationships with key accounts to increase satisfaction and revenue.
• Deliver persuasive verbal sales presentations and articulate the hotel's benefits to close deals.
• Travel locally for outside calls, promote the hotel and review the competition; represent the hotel at trade shows.
• Follow HHM's EarthView sustainability guidelines and perform other duties requested by management.

Required profile

• Proven track record in sales required; previous hospitality sales experience preferred.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or a related field preferred.
• Schedule varies and may include occasional work on holidays and weekends.
• Able to sit for long periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend and reach; moderate travel between hotel and client sites required.
