Food & Beverage Manager

About the role

The Food & Beverage Manager leads and manages the staff and operations of the food and beverage department at Joinery Hotel Pittsburgh, a Curio Collection by Hilton hotel with 185 rooms in downtown Pittsburgh. The manager ensures superior menu items and services that give guests a memorable experience, takes ownership of the financial aspects of the role and creates a work environment consistent with the hotel's values.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates so they meet brand and hotel standards.
• Monitor product quality and guest satisfaction in food and beverage outlets, ensuring food is prepared according to recipes and guest specifications.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards and that facilities look appealing.
• Handle internal and external customers with patience, tact and diplomacy, and deal with guests to gather feedback on service and food.
• Keep equipment in working order and take part in restaurant marketing efforts.
• Document inventory, forecast usage and monitor supplies of linen, glassware, silverware, china and condiments.
• Follow alcohol-serving regulations, sustainability guidelines and the EarthView program, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.

Required profile

• Prior management experience in restaurants required.
• Ability to work varied shifts, holidays and weekends, and to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Ability to communicate with guests and associates verbally and in writing.
