AM Shift Restaurant Server

About the role

Le Méridien Houston Downtown, a Marriott Bonvoy hotel with 255 rooms in downtown Houston, is hiring an AM shift restaurant server. The server serves food and beverage to guests courteously and in line with the brand's guest service and sustainability standards, with a growth path to supervisor, banquet server, captain, restaurant manager or banquet manager.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food and beverage to guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Take food and beverage orders and place them in the point of service system.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction and pay attention to guest satisfaction scores.
• Set and clear tables in dining areas and stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins or straws.
• Pick up orders from food preparation areas and make sure the food is prepared correctly.
• Prepare guest checks and process payments where appropriate.
• Help with bartending and bussing during staffing shortages or peak periods.
• Follow sustainability guidelines under the HHM EarthView program and follow safe work habits, protective equipment and MSDS/OSHA standards.

Required profile

• Previous food and beverage experience required, or equivalent training.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, bend and reach; schedule may include holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.

Required skills

• Knowledge of POS systems.
• TIPS certification preferred.
