Sales Executive - Pulp & Paper Chemicals

About the role

Buckman, a privately held global specialty chemicals company headquartered in Memphis, TN, is hiring a Sales Executive for its New Bern, NC and Franklin, VA territory. The role drives profitable growth, retains customers and strengthens relationships within assigned accounts, acting as the main point of contact for strategic guidance and account growth. Travel is up to 40%.

Key responsibilities

• Grow year-over-year revenue through cross-selling and upselling, and identify and commercialize new applications with existing and new customers
• Manage the sales pipeline, track opportunity size and conversion rates, and report forecasts using Connected Planning (Ackumen) and manage opportunities in Dynamics
• Optimize product mix and prices with technical and functional teams, and coordinate substitutions to improve cost-efficiency
• Maintain relationships with key decision makers, lead business reviews and address attrition risks
• Meet or exceed sales, gross profit and MPC budgets, manage customer credit limits and receivables, and sell aged inventory to support inventory turnover
• Collaborate with customer service, planning, lab, R&D and supply chain, and use digital tools such as Ackumen and Dynamics
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, write service reports and manage customer equipment uptime
• Follow safety policies, complete Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent industrial experience
• Pulp & Paper, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Biology degree preferred
• 5 years of related experience in pulp, paper and water treatment
• Specific training in pulp/paper science or packaging desired
• Knowledge of industrial processes in the segment and experience applying chemical products in industry
