Sales Director

About the role

This senior, hands‑on position reports to the VP of Sales and is responsible for building and leading the up‑market sales motion at Read AI, turning product‑led usage into enterprise adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Define and build the up‑market motion, creating a playbook from successful product‑market fit tests.
• Source net‑new opportunities, run complex deals end‑to‑end through security, procurement and legal reviews.
• Experiment with targeting, packaging, pricing and sales plays, retaining winners and discarding losers.
• Establish reseller and technology partner relationships and explore additional distribution channels.
• Provide customer insights to product and engineering, influencing future roadmap.
• When the motion is proven, hire and coach a team to scale the effort.

Required profile

• 7+ years in B2B SaaS sales with a strong record closing upper mid‑market and enterprise deals.
• 3+ years in a sales leadership role (preferred).
• Experience building new sales programs from scratch, especially in early‑stage or growth companies.
• Proven ability to turn product‑led adoption into larger agreements and work with reseller/channel partners.
• Comfort selling to executives and navigating IT, security, legal and procurement processes.
• Curious, low‑ego, high‑grit, collaborative and ambitious mindset.
