Routing Specialist (Remote)

About the role

This remote position supports Ryder's Continuous Improvement culture by planning and optimizing daily routes for dedicated customers across the Ryder network. The Routing Specialist uses automated processes and routing software to create optimal multi‑stop routes for execution by operating teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily route planning for operating teams using transportation modeling software.
• Monitor electronic order files from customers and process completed routes back to DTS operating teams.
• Produce optimal, executable multi‑stop dedicated routes based on predefined parameters and customer orders within required timeframes.
• Handle multiple routing sessions per day for various locations, typically spending 1–2 hours per session.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 0–1 year experience in transportation or supply chain, including dedicated, FTL or LTL operations.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite – Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
• Data visualization tools – PowerBI, Tableau.
• Database programming – SQL, DAX.
• Basic knowledge of Lean tools – 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, problem solving.
