Industrial Engineering Manager – Remote

About the role

The Manager, Industrial Engineering will lead Ryder’s continuous improvement (CI) initiatives across multiple distribution and transportation sites. Reporting to the CI Director, the role drives data‑driven engineering, automation and lean projects to boost safety, quality, cost and service performance while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of CI engineers and quality professionals, handling hiring, coaching and performance management.
• Lead complex supply‑chain projects, develop scorecards, KPIs and action plans, and report progress to senior leadership.
• Facilitate value‑stream mapping, Kaizen events, A3 charters and sustain improvements through visual management and PDCA cycles.
• Design and optimize warehouse layouts, slotting, labor standards and automation solutions using CAD, Slot3D, MOST and WMS tools.
• Oversee QMS design, corrective‑action systems and regulatory compliance for new start‑ups or expansions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain; Master’s preferred.
• 9+ years of experience in distribution, warehousing, transportation or manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to manage cross‑functional CI projects from concept to sustained results.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Data visualization tools: PowerBI, Tableau.
• Database programming: SQL, DAX.
• Engineering and lean tools: Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, PDCA.
• Warehouse design software: AutoCAD, Slot3D, MOST.
• WMS/WCS platforms: Manhattan Scale, JDA, Llamasoft, OTM.
• HRM system experience: Workday.
