Rotational Server - Food and Beverage

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs is hiring a seasonal Rotational Server in its Food and Beverage department. The role covers the full table service of guests, from greeting and seating through courses, drinks and payment, and requires rotating across different functions depending on hotel demand.

Key responsibilities

• Embody the brand in every aspect of the guest experience and greet guests warmly according to Greenbrier standards
• Escort guests to their seats, offer chair and napkin assistance and present the menu and beverages
• Take food and drink orders, place them in the Point of Sale system and serve using full club service
• Serve bread and butter, polish and set silver and glassware, fire courses and clear tables
• Make and serve coffee, tea, espresso, cappuccino and latte; take dessert orders
• Present checks and process payments, assist with guest departure and complete side work and the service script
• Maintain a clean, organized side station, keep supplies stocked and follow ABC laws
• Take part in pre-shift meetings and training, and help colleagues when needed

Required profile

• At least one year of waiter/waitress experience
• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• Effective communication and enthusiastic knowledge of food and beverage offerings and their preparation
• Professionalism on the phone and in the dining room, consistent with the Ten Essential Attributes
• Ability to adapt to fluctuating demands and to perform other tasks as needed

Required skills

• Point of Sale terminal experience
• Successful completion of a verbal and written menu test and a practical service test
