Rotational Food Runner

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs is hiring a seasonal Rotational Food Runner for its Food and Beverage department. The role is about delivering a five-star dining experience while upholding the brand's DNA, and because of fluctuating hotel demand, employees are expected to help each other and perform other tasks as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure every guest receives a five-star experience and proactively greet them warmly
• Escort guests to their seats, offer chair assistance and give a genuine farewell
• Serve and articulate all courses, taking food orders and placing them in the Point of Sale system
• Deliver food efficiently to tables and maintain the guest experience
• Provide bottled water, present menus, set silverware, fire courses and clear them
• Take dessert orders and make and serve coffee, tea, espresso, cappuccino and latte
• Assist the dining team with the service script, keep the station clean and organized, and stay within ABC laws
• Take part in pre-shift meetings and training, and keep supplies on hand

Required profile

• At least two years as a busboy or food runner; four or five star dining experience preferred
• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• Passed the verbal and written menu test and the practical service test
• Enthusiastic, professional and energetic, able to follow the 12 Greenbrier values

Required skills

• Point of Sale terminal experience
• Effective communication and accurate pronunciation of food and beverage offerings
• On-going certification and training
