Roark Marketing Manager
archipelagocos · Irvine
Job description
About the role
Roark is a premium Adventure Lifestyle brand working in the Outdoor, Surf and Lifestyle channels. The Marketing Manager leads the marketing department through the 18-month go-to-market process alongside other department heads, owning the GTM calendar, the projects that fill it and the assets needed on time, on brand and on budget. It is an operations-first role connecting design and merchandising upstream with ECOM, retail and wholesale downstream.
Key responsibilities
- Marketing operations: own the team's intake, briefing, routing, approvals, versioning and archive; run project management in the team's tools; manage the marketing budget at line-item level and vendor and agency relationships.
- Go-to-market calendar: own the master Roark GTM calendar, build it backward from the commercial date, publish milestone dates and run seasonal, monthly and weekly checkpoints.
- Omni-channel projects: lead brand campaigns across ecom, email, social, retail, wholesale, catalog, print, events and PR; write and steward the go-to-market brief; run cross-functional launch reviews.
- Content production: produce seasonal photo and video content from brief to delivery, manage the asset pipeline, produce catalogs, line sheets, look books and trade show materials, and oversee print and production.
- Owned retail marketing: build the marketing program for Roark stores, including window and in-store storytelling, signage, fixtures, store communications and support for openings, remodels and pop-ups.
- Wholesale marketing: build the sell-in playbook, manage account-facing marketing for Core, Majors, drop ship, Canada and International, run trade shows and sales meetings, and deliver brand-controlled assets to partners.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years in marketing at a consumer brand, with meaningful time on the traditional marketing side (brand, wholesale, retail, trade or brand and creative operations); performance marketing or agency-only backgrounds are not a fit.
- Demonstrated ownership of a seasonal go-to-market calendar in apparel, footwear, outdoor, action sports or premium lifestyle.
- Hands-on project management experience with multiple workstreams, stakeholders and hard deadlines.
- Real production experience producing photo and video shoots and taking print and physical collateral through to delivery.
