Global Marketing Director

About the role

Roark, a premium Adventure Lifestyle brand active in Outdoor, Surf and Lifestyle, is looking for a Global Marketing Director based in Irvine. The director sets the brand vision and runs the process that delivers it, owning marketing's seat in the 18-month GTM process alongside product, merchandising, planning and sales leaders. The role reports to the Founder and Chief Brand Officer and leads a team of four.

Key responsibilities

• Own the brand strategy, annual and seasonal marketing plan, brand book and guidelines, and bring consumer and competitive insight to product and merchandising early.
• Own the 18-month GTM process: set the seasonal calendar, write and approve the go-to-market brief, and lead seasonal kickoff and launch readiness reviews.
• Approve all brand assets (campaigns, ECOM, retail, wholesale, media, social, PR, athlete) and manage the Art Director, community manager and athlete manager.
• Own DTC: site and digital marketing plan, owned retail program, and monthly performance review with ECOM and retail.
• Own wholesale: sell-in playbook, account-facing marketing, co-op programs and partner asset submissions, aligned with sales.
• Manage the marketing budget, agency and vendor partners, and coach and develop the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in marketing or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years in brand marketing at a consumer apparel, outdoor, surf or premium lifestyle brand, at both strategic and executional levels.
• Proven leadership of a marketing team, including creative talent, and management of contract and agency resources.
• Demonstrated ownership of a GTM process at brand scale and global brand strategy experience.
• Experience directing campaign photo and film production and managing media, social, PR and athlete programs.
• Deep knowledge of the adventure travel, surf, run, climb and trail communities.
