RN Surgery Resident

About the role

The RN Surgery Resident position at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus offers a comprehensive residency program where new graduate nurses provide direct patient care in operative settings while participating in a core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub and circulating functions, preparing the OR, instruments, and equipment.
• Work under the guidance of a coach and follow established policies, procedures, and protocols.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience.

Required skills

• Full range of body motion and ability to lift patients.
• Manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination for handling surgical instruments.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
