RN – Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit

About the role

The Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit is a high‑acuity, 34‑bed unit delivering specialized care to patients with complex pulmonary conditions. As an RN you will provide direct nursing care on a day/night rotation, supporting patients through advanced respiratory therapies and post‑lung transplant recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with asthma, ventilator and tracheostomy needs, high‑flow oxygen, BiPAP, post‑lung transplant care, and pulmonary hypertension.
• Implement, monitor, and update individualized patient care plans, documenting conditions and communicating changes to the care team.
• Administer prescribed medications, oxygen therapies, and other treatments while following physician and nursing orders.
• Assess discharge needs, coordinate transitions of care, and educate patients and families.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• At least one year of acute care RN experience or equivalent military RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross).

Required skills

• Ventilator and tracheostomy management.
• High‑flow oxygen and BiPAP therapy administration.
• Post‑lung transplant patient care.
• Management of pulmonary hypertension patients.
