About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for its Cardiology Stepdown Unit. This unit cares for patients awaiting major cardiac procedures such as open‑heart surgery and pacemaker implantation, offering a dynamic environment with diverse comorbidities.

Key responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care and implement patient care plans.
Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions and respond to physician and nursing orders.
Assess discharge needs and coordinate patient transitions.
Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and clinical study.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program.
Current state RN licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Two years of recent related nursing experience (or less for internal candidates with probationary review).
Ability to work day, evening, night, and weekend shifts on a 12‑hour schedule.

Required skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Registered Nurse licensure.
Competence in patient assessment, care planning, and documentation.
