RN – Operating Room (OR) – PRN

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide peri‑operative care in an 18‑suite Operating Room Department at Florida Weston Hospital. This PRN position supports a wide range of complex surgeries, including organ transplants, orthopedics and neurosurgery, while delivering patient‑centered care throughout the surgical journey.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, implement and update patient care plans, and monitor patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments, execute physician and nursing orders, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, postoperative care, and recovery expectations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) with current RN licensure in Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within the first year of hire.
• At least one year of acute care RN experience or equivalent military RN experience.
• Periop 101 training or validated on‑the‑job training for the operating room setting.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Perioperative nursing knowledge (Periop 101 or OJT).
