RN Med/Surg Travel Nurse (36 hrs/week)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for a 36-hour-per-week Med/Surg travel assignment in Kissimmee, Florida. The position is open to StaffFlex nurses, who can work contract assignments at one facility or float within multiple hospitals across 9 states. There are no housing or travel stipends.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care
• Implement interventions safely and document them, and collect patient health data systematically
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols
• Collaborate on patient admission, discharge and transfer, and participate in peer review
• Educate patients and families on conditions, procedures and care plans
• Advocate for patients, ensure safe handoffs and follow CDC isolation guidelines and PPE use

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing)
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise plans of care
• Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree required
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• CPR certification (BLS)
• Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) preferred
