Physical Therapy Assistant - Home Health

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time, day-shift Physical Therapy Assistant for its home health program in Kissimmee, Florida. The position works Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a weekend on-call rotation, and pays between $23.94 and $44.53. Eligible applicants may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain open communication with the case manager, primary therapist and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care and discharge planning.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate with the Physical Therapist for necessary adjustments.
• Educate patients, family members and caregivers on their identified needs.
• Implement treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist, following insurance guidelines and patient needs.
• Document interventions and patient progress accurately, using measurable and objective terminology.
• Maintain productivity standards and adjust work hours to meet patient needs; take part in departmental meetings, education sessions and performance improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (required).
• Entry-level competency in physical therapy practice, theory, principles and applications (required).
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English (required).
• 1+ year of home health experience preferred.
• Physical Therapy Assistant license (required).
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification (required).
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance and a Florida Level 2 background screening (fingerprinting).

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (required).
