RN – Medical/Surgical Oncology (Night Shift)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical Oncology unit at Mercy Hospital in Canton. This night‑shift position (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) provides direct care to oncology and hospice patients, supporting their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, administer medications and treatments, and execute physician and nursing orders.
• Develop, monitor, and update patient care plans, documenting conditions and communicating changes.
• Educate patients and families, coordinate discharge planning, and ensure safe end‑of‑life care.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN) with current RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one year of acute care RN experience or equivalent military RN experience.
• Obtain a cancer‑specific certification or complete the ONS Chemo/Bio course within two years of hire.

Required skills

• Competence in acute care nursing procedures.
• Ability to assess, document, and communicate patient status accurately.
• Knowledge of oncology care protocols and chemotherapy safety.
