RN – Medical/Surgical and Telemetry

About the role

The Registered Nurse will work on Mercy Hospital’s 2M Medical/Surgical & Telemetry unit, providing care to post‑operative, cardiac, stroke and other high‑acuity patients. The RN’s primary goal is to advance patient recovery and ensure safe discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, administer medications and treatments, and execute physician and nursing orders.
• Develop, monitor, and update patient care plans, documenting conditions and communicating changes.
• Assess discharge needs, coordinate transitions, and educate patients and families.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN) with current RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one year of acute‑care RN experience in a hospital setting or equivalent military RN experience.

Required skills

• Full range of motion for patient handling and lifting.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work under stressful conditions for extended periods.
