Job description

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care in the Family Birthing Unit during night shifts on a part‑time basis, following the Nurse Practice Act and Ochsner’s standards of practice.

Key responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care.
Assess learning needs of patients and families and provide appropriate education.
Delegate, direct, and collaborate with licensed and ancillary team members.
Contribute to unit and department strategic goals and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
RN diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
No prior work experience required.

Required skills

Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication.
