RN – Adult Medical Emergency Team (AMET)

About the role

The Adult Medical Emergency Team (AMET) RN provides rapid response and critical care interventions for patients at risk of clinical deterioration. This night‑shift position works both on the AMET and within ICU units, delivering urgent care and supporting education and quality initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to codes and rapid response calls, performing CPR, intubation, defibrillation, and emergency medication administration.
• Provide direct nursing care, develop and update patient care plans, and document patient conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Educate patients and families, and coordinate discharge planning as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure.
• Minimum one year of acute/critical care experience in a bedside role (military RN experience considered).
• Availability for night shifts (7:00 pm–7:30 am) including every other weekend and holidays.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (upon hire or within one year).
• Proficiency in critical care interventions such as CPR, intubation, defibrillation, and emergency medication administration.
