Retail Pharmacy Technician III

About the role

Meijer is hiring a Level 3 Retail Pharmacy Technician in Elkhart. The position works in a pharmacy environment that promotes patient care, and the person must be friendly and provide excellent customer service. The role covers dispensing, prescription handling, inventory and basic patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with patients at various service points and promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services
• Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims
• Retrieve medications from inventory and stock prescription medication
• Complete paperwork for filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders
• Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department
• Maintain a clean, orderly pharmacy and keep patient information confidential
• Perform CLIA-waived tests as part of the Meijer Health Screening Program and provide immunizations to patients

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Registered and/or licensed in the state of practice, or complete Meijer employer-based training if licensure is not required
• Completion of Meijer Retrobill training to comply with third-party processes
• Ability to prioritize workload and organize effectively
