911 EMT (Full-Time and Part-Time)

About the role

Assist Ambulance, a New York City EMS agency serving all five boroughs, is hiring experienced 911 Emergency Medical Technicians certified in New York State for its FDNY 911 division in Brooklyn. Positions are offered full-time and part-time, with steady scheduling of at least two 12-hour shifts per week on the same days. No transport shifts are required.

Required profile

• 2 years of full-time, paid, verifiable EMT experience in the New York City 911 system
• Active NY State EMT-B card; NREMT card alone is not accepted
• At least 20 years old
• 1 year of driving experience in New York City and passing 2 driving assessments
• Valid NY State D Class driver's license with no more than 3 major moving violations in the past three years; DJ licenses and permits are not accepted
• Physically fit to lift 125 lbs., able to get 19A physical clearance and a negative PPD test, and pass a 10-panel drug screen
• Commitment to at least two 12-hour shifts per week on the same days; per diem is not available
• Good with people and able to act responsibly under extreme duress; criminal history reviewed under the NYC Fair Chance Act
• Able to attend in-person pre-hire assessments

What we offer

• Base pay starting at $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, with differentials up to $25 (part-time), $26 (full-time) or $28 (Friday-Sunday night shifts)
• Weekly payday, a half-cent raise after 90 days and a 5% annual increase
