Research Technologist – Clinical Laboratory

About the role

The Clinical Research Technologist works in the Nemours GI Diagnostic and Research laboratory, performing enzyme, immunologic, and other biochemical assays on body fluids and tissue samples for diagnostic testing. The role supports assay development, maintains compliance with regulatory standards, and provides progress reports to lab leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire, log, and process biological specimens following SOPs and regulatory guidelines (CAP, CLIA, JCAHO).
• Perform, interpret, and record results of enzyme, immunologic, and other biochemical assays.
• Assist other technologists, maintain inventory, and support the lab manager in compliance activities.
• Participate in development and validation of new clinical assays and implementation of new laboratory protocols.
• Maintain handwritten and computerized records, and utilize databases for sample tracking and result reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a biomedical research laboratory.
• Knowledge of basic enzyme and immunoassay techniques and related research methodology.
• Computer literacy for data entry and database use.
