Research Support Coordinator

About the role

The Research Support Coordinator provides essential support for clinical and genetic research studies, handling data collection, participant interaction, and coordination with project partners at the University of Miami.

Key responsibilities

• Organize, host, and participate in community education outreach to recruit study participants.
• Serve as the primary contact for referral sites.
• Meet with participants to explain study purpose, procedures, and obtain informed consent.
• Assist with preparation and monitoring of IRB documents, conduct clinical interviews, and coordinate assessments.
• Track participants through all stages of the research program.
• Ensure rigorous implementation of protocols and supervise data quality assurance procedures.
• Manage petty cash for study activities and organize data collection forms.
• Contribute to manuscript, report, and grant proposal preparation.
• Monitor revenue cycles for external contracts and relationships.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard university assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years of experience in clinical or genetic research support.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and clear written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and related computer applications.
