Registered Nurse 3 – Specialty (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami is looking for a Registered Nurse 3 with a specialty focus to join our clinical team on a full‑time basis. The role involves delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Complete assessments, document patient interactions, and consider age and cultural factors in care planning.
• Demonstrate advanced competency in nursing practice and administer medications according to regulatory standards.
• Reassess and document the effectiveness of interventions, updating care plans as needed.
• Communicate care plans clearly to patients, families, and team members.
• Participate in policy, procedure, and protocol development and ensure best‑practice compliance.
• Engage in committees, task forces, and unit‑level projects that impact patient care and safety.
• Initiate discharge planning at admission, involving patients and support networks.
• Manage workload, prioritize assignments, and adapt to changing demands.
• Provide preceptorship to students and new staff, and serve as Charge or Resource Nurse when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and adapt to evolving clinical environments.
