Manager, Medical Technologist

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Manager of Medical Technologists to lead the Lennar and Kendall laboratory units. This full‑time position oversees daily laboratory operations, quality assurance, and staff development to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead teams of medical technologists, communicate policy changes, and ensure proper staffing coverage.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, initiate service requests, and oversee instrument performance.
• Plan, prioritize, and direct work activities to achieve efficient laboratory operations.
• Monitor quality control, proficiency testing, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and evaluate training programs, competency assessments, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• FLDOH Clinical Laboratory Supervisor certification.
• Strong operational management and team‑leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Clinical Laboratory Supervisor (FLDOH) certification.
• Proficiency in laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission).
