Registered Nurse 2 – Multispecialty (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to join our multispecialty team at the University of Miami in Coral Gables. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to diverse patient populations, ensuring high‑quality, compassionate service in a full‑time, onsite setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and evaluate diagnostic test results to monitor patient condition.
• Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while respecting age and cultural considerations.
• Safely administer medications and perform patient tests, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Communicate the plan of care promptly to patients, families, and the care team, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning using available resources.
• Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing work demands, and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding institutional assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Demonstrated learning agility to adopt new procedures and technologies.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Technical proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
