Research Scientist

About the role

Roboflow is seeking a Research Scientist to lead novel machine‑learning research that shapes the company’s vision for computer‑vision tools. You will work on problems observed from a massive user base and translate breakthroughs into production‑ready systems.

Key responsibilities

• Identify high‑impact open problems in computer vision and develop original theoretical approaches.
• Publish research at top conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with engineering to turn prototypes into scalable production systems.
• Drive research that generalises across diverse data, hardware targets, and real‑world use cases.

Required profile

• PhD or Masters in AI, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, or equivalent industry experience.
• Track record of publications at leading conferences or journals.
• Deep understanding of ML theory and a pragmatic bias toward actionable results.
• Passion for computer‑vision, scientific rigour, and reproducibility.

Required skills

• Expertise in machine‑learning theory and algorithms.
• Experience with computer‑vision research and model optimisation.
• Ability to communicate research to scientific, developer, and internal audiences.

What we offer

• Base salary $168,000‑$255,000 (USD) per year, adjusted for location and level.
