Research Scheduler

About the role

The Research Scheduler schedules routine and non-routine medical services with local healthcare providers for an assigned patient population. The role also covers receptionist, clerical, record-keeping and other duties supporting outpatient or inpatient medical services. It is posted through NEXT Oncology, an Avacare business, within IQVIA's clinical research business.

Key responsibilities

• Daily confirm on-site clinic and off-site appointments.
• Receive, screen and coordinate telephone calls from healthcare providers.
• Maintain and update provider addresses and phone numbers.
• Handle incoming correspondence and forward it to the right staff.
• Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, faxing and filing confidential documents, and using the internet and email.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
• Collect patient information at admission, help fill out forms and case histories, and make and distribute daily schedules for doctors and staff.
• Maintain and update physician and patient data and manage front-desk operations.
• Support research staff by coordinating clinical scheduling for clinical trial participants.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree or certificate program preferred.
• Three years of medical clinic administrative or medical scheduling experience preferred.

• Base pay range of $25,900 to $64,800 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule (full or part-time).
