Registered Respiratory Therapist – Weekend Day (Children's Hospital)

About the role

The Children’s Hospital at Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide critical and general respiratory care on weekend day shifts. This position supports a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality patient care in a Magnet® recognized facility.

Key responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy as ordered, including mechanical ventilator management, Bi‑PAP, and aerosol treatments.
• Perform emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation, maintain airways, and monitor ventilator parameters.
• Conduct arterial blood gas studies, pulse oximetry, and interpret results.
• Educate patients on sleep apnea devices, CPAP mask fitting, and pressure settings.
• Maintain inventory of respiratory equipment and ensure proper stock levels.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited RRT program.
• RRT certification (NBRC) and state licensure within 1 year of hire.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and RCP certifications as required by Pennsylvania regulations.
• Ability to lift 40‑50 lb and stand/walk for extended periods.
