Radiation Therapist

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Radiation Therapist to deliver prescribed radiation treatments, monitor patients, and support the oncology team across multiple LVHN sites.

Key responsibilities

• Administer prescribed radiation therapy and continuously monitor patients during treatment.
• Schedule daily treatment appointments, answer patient questions, and explain procedures.
• Serve as liaison between patients and the care team, reinforcing post‑treatment care recommendations.
• Monitor radiation equipment inventory and adhere to safety regulations.
• Participate in CT simulation procedures and on‑call duties as needed.
• Mentor and train new radiation therapists, students, and staff on equipment and protocols.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy or equivalent accredited program (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days and ARRT Radiation Therapy certification within 180 days.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle electronic health records.
• Physical ability to lift/carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform patient transfers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with radiation therapy equipment and safety protocols.
• Experience using electronic health record systems.
• Knowledge of radiation safety regulations.
• Basic scientific and technical problem‑solving abilities.
