About the role
Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead quality initiatives for its Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Program. The role combines direct patient care with program management, data collection, and performance improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate activities to support Primary Stroke Center certification and Chest Pain accreditation.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for stroke and chest‑pain patients according to established protocols.
- Abstract required data elements into the Stroke and Chest Pain registries and manage data quality.
- Develop and deliver presentations on program performance and improvement activities.
- Serve as the local subject‑matter expert during accreditation surveys and ensure post‑survey compliance.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of medical/surgical or emergency room nursing experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in neurology and/or cardiology settings.
- Current Pennsylvania RN license, Basic Life Support and ACLS certifications.
Required skills
- Basic computer and data‑entry skills.
- Proficiency with stroke and chest‑pain registry systems.
- Knowledge of American Heart Association BLS and ACLS protocols.
