Registered Nurse – Special Care Nursery (NICU)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will work on the 2A/2C Maternity Unit at Mercy Hospital, providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns in a high‑acuity NICU environment. The position is night‑shift (7:00 pm‑7:30 am) with on‑call responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, implement and monitor patient care plans, and document patient conditions.
• Circulate and scrub in the Operating Room, train in the OB Emergency Department, and cross‑train to postpartum care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to nursing protocols and physician orders.
• Educate patients and families, addressing cultural considerations and special concerns.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN) with current RN licensure.
• One year of acute care RN experience or military RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within one year of hire).
