Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room – Nights

About the role

Join Ochsner’s Emergency Room team on the night shift to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care to diverse patients. As a Registered Nurse you will lead the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and uphold the standards of the Nurse Practice Act and ANA Code.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while ensuring quality outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team, adapting language to cultural and privacy needs.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications required within specified time frames after hire.
• No prior work experience required.
