Registered Nurse (RN) – Bariatric Outpatient Clinic (Full‑time, Days)

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered nursing care in Atrium Health’s Outpatient Weight Management Clinic. Working within a multidisciplinary bariatric team, the RN supports patients throughout their weight‑management journey, from conservative treatment to surgical intervention and long‑term follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate peripheral intravenous (IV) access for in‑clinic procedures.
• Conduct clinical triage of patient telephone inquiries.
• Coordinate prior authorizations for diagnostic studies and surgical interventions.
• Assist with pre‑operative and post‑operative patient flow, including preparing and rooming patients for the surgeon.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinic policies.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the practicing state.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience; ambulatory experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification (required).
• BSN preferred.

Required skills

• Peripheral IV insertion.
• Clinical triage of patient inquiries.
• Prior authorization coordination.
• Pre‑operative and post‑operative patient flow management.
• BLS certification.
