Job description

About the role

Provide professional nursing care on the Progressive Care Unit, delivering comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for designated patients in accordance with LVHN policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Deliver patient and family education throughout the treatment course to ensure smooth transitions of care.
  • Participate in evidence‑based practice, performance improvement processes and unit safety initiatives.
  • Teach and mentor new colleagues and interns, and delegate tasks based on team members’ skills and patient acuity.

Required profile

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN license (PA State) upon hire.
  • Successful completion of unit orientation and maintenance of unit‑specific competencies.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize assignments and perform physical tasks such as lifting 40‑50 lb.

Required skills

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) certification.
  • Basic computer skills.
